Can you Digg™ it @ Hacienda.co.uk?
June 4th, 2008
Hacienda.co.uk has gone social by adding social bookmarking! House hunters can now share their favourite properties with friends by saving or tagging properties directly from Hacienda onto their own web pages.
Each property listed on Hacienda’s innovative house maps contains a comprehensive list of social bookmarks, making it easier for both buyers and sellers to communicate which properties are of interest to them to their online networks.
Hacienda is one of the first property portals to provide social bookmarking, including the 1-click bookmarking for Facebook, Del.icio.us™, Digg™, Furl, Reddit, StumbleUpon, and YahooMyWeb™ – all of which are free to use.
Guy Chilvers, Sales Director of Hacienda.co.uk, said, "We’ve always wanted to have the most user-friendly property website, so after receiving requests for social bookmarking, it made perfect sense to add the facility. Now our users can ‘show and tell’ properties at the touch of a button.
"People can easily add a description of the property too, making Hacienda even simpler to use for everyone, even those who aren’t usually computer savvy.
"As one of the first property websites to add social bookmarking, we feel that our interactive and user-friendly service has been further enhanced. It may be that the major portals are complacent and don’t listen to the consumers anymore, but we’re passionate about our property portal and are only too happy to listen to our users - continually refining Hacienda to suit their needs.”

About Hacienda.co.uk
Hacienda.co.uk is the trading name of The Useful House Map Company Limited.
Hacienda is an interactive and easy to use house mapping portal that allows the consumer to quickly find available properties in a desired area displayed on a map. What makes Hacienda different is that it doesn’t just show a few selected properties on the map at one time - it shows all available properties on the map - which means no more clicking backwards and forwards. If the consumer is looking for a house or flat, on a particular road, near a particular school or transport node, or even near the park, it is instantly accessible and highly visual.
Hacienda’s clear and simple house maps have been phenomenally well received so far – with 90% of estate agencies met signing up to use the service.
The concept is the brainchild of Paul Ordman, who after experiencing frustration and irritation during his own search for a new home, started to experiment with mapping systems to see if there was a better way to find a home. After researching other portals and visiting many estate agents, he formed The Useful House Map Company to help other people find a home.
